Another Day in Hue

The main landmark of Hue is the Perfume River, with the old city and the Citadel on the north side and the newer city on the south side.  We spent the morning crossing the bridge via cyclo to visit the markets - another site of frenetic energy and frenzied activity.  So much eye popping colour, ear drum cracking noise and the smells (well) - The sweet smell of incense suddenly over-ridden by the fetid smell of the market produce.

Banana, banana and more banana - The sweetest bananas around

The riverside has a lovely promenade and park which contains some intriguing sculptures.

The cyclo was definitely the way to go today and we had to lovely guys that took us here there and everywhere, markets, provincial and imperial fine arts museum (all of which had deteriorated terribly since our last time in Hue and in fact minimal items on display).  We were informed that they are in a restoration phase.

Badminton appears to be the sport of choice.  Outside the Citadel.
