Nikko Futarasan Jinja Shrine - Temple of Love and Shinkyo

Nikko Futarasan Jinja Shrine - Wooden plaques with heart shapes on them adorn the prayer posts with requests for love to fulfilled.  This temple has a more light hearted atmosphere.

The beautiful Shinkyo, a vermilion-lacquered wooden bridge belongs to the shrine and according to legend was constructed from snakes by local deities.

Many visitors come to pray for good luck and success in love.

Love prayers have been tied to this metal heart stand.

People throw little wooden hearts with prayers they have written on the reverse side towards the larger heart.  The idea is to aim to hear the large heart and hopefully your prayer will be answered.
